How ranking works
Value travels from outcomes to supporting work, halving per edge. Each source is counted once at its shortest distance. Values are illustrative judgments, not money or probabilities.
Observed hours accumulate once on the work node. At the budget boundary, unfinished work doubles its commitment budget. Budget increases propagate toward ancestors at ½, ¼, …, once per source.
Score = inherited and direct value / (commitment budget + inherited budget increases). This is an experimental resistance heuristic, not an estimate of remaining hours or a guarantee of return. Paused and completed work stays out of the queue.
